Checklist for launching promotions with Google Ads
How do you sell your products online effectively during the sale season?
Especially when there’s so much to do and you’re already on data overload. What strategy will work best and how will you target your buyers?
Shopping ad campaigns
A picture speaks in a 1000 words they say.
Damn right, it does!
It tells me directly if I want it or not! Shopping campaigns have a better draw as they have the added value of a picture as well as price. Say all of your ads are picture ads then it saves time, as a customer understands if a website has the style and price preference of an individual user.
Shopping ads create a positive impact and they work very well. Also, sometimes they can be cheaper than text ads.
Include positive reviews
Statistics say that 74% of users are more likely to buy products from businesses in which there are positive reviews mentioned. This system can offer a better customer experience to users that are coming to your website for the first time.
Reviews are highlighted properly on Google shopping with star ratings, and that makes all the difference.
Search Campaigns
Search campaigns are great when you want the user to follow a specific call to action. Especially since you can add extensions on them. If you give them direction, the likelihood of them following it can be twice as high. Search ads are great for selling products that have low-profit margins, as you can club them with other products as well.
Extensions make your ads more effective and get the extra coverage and promotional features. When used appropriately, these extensions bring more clicks and conversions.
Incorporate callouts and structured snippets in your text add. This feature allows you to have more real estate next to your text. As you can plug in varying details about your business and its services. You’re going to want to try a couple of variants of what works.
Up the barometer on this, lower the bid on that… sprinkle some show and tell here, a negative keyword (hideaway) there.
Adjust bidding strategies
Say you like polo styled t-shirts and you spend an average of 12€ - 15€ on them; the inputs gathered from Google Ads analytics will help target exact buyers.
Different bidding strategies lead to different results. Try adjusting bids using different methods-
- Manual bidding
- Cost per acquisition bidding
- Enhanced CPC (cost-per-click)
- Return on ads spend, ROAS
By monitoring all these changes categorically, you can know which change leads to better results.
But be sure to regularly experiment with different ad elements, budgets, and keywords. Also, consider running multiple ads at one time to see if different ad strategies can yield the results you want.

Points to remember
If you want to run this on your own and do everything manually; these are some tips you can keep in mind to keep everything on the up and up --
- Create specific ad groups for each promotion.
- Choose your keywords carefully. Identify your top 20% keywords that generate sales and remove the bottom 20% that drags you down.
- Include keywords in Headline 1.
- Create simple, enticing ads.
- Use a strong call-to-action. Example - ‘Summer sales end on Sunday, BUY NOW’
- Test out multiple ads. A/B testing all the way!
- Regularly review your campaign performance.
Trial and error always lead to more progress.
Google is going to launch a new feature in which websites can ask Google to read the website for them. Imagine how beneficial this will be for older people who have a hard time reading; as well as time-saving for the working class to update their knowledge on-the-go!
With all the novelties emerging in the World, it’s time to play around on Google Ads and check how all these advancements can help your business remain relevant and flourishing.
Happy selling =)
